MAiTeam

A year ago the ‘brilliant kid’ came up with an idea of gathering skillful kids to play a match against Malaysian Team. The hidden agenda was to get the biggest support from grassroots for own political dream. Few phone calls to FAM later the game was no more a fantasy, but he needed money and publicity, the two most important element in influencing public that the idea is well-mannered to the benefit of Malaysian football. Few more phone calls were made, this time to his friend in TV3 (promised him a game at old Trafford) and another to a government link companies, my god it was easy when your father in-law is head of the government.

FAM, adding to their ever stupid reputation, agreed to the match. Thinking that this just another game, and a bunch of amateurs wont do any harm – mistake. Win or loose, they’re in the trap, digging their own grave as everyone would expect them to win. No rewards for a win, but loosing are pure humiliation.

Every week the show portrays desire and passion, normal people chasing the dream of a lifetime, some genuine, but some are not really genuine. Cameras and editing did their work, majority fall for it, supporters grows, and money pouring in for the executive producer. Laughing on the way to the bank, he received a phone call from FAM, “Allo, fren… you team is goodla, what if we send the under 20 team, at least it’s not so bad if they loose. After all they’re better than the big brothers; furthermore they are playing in major finals in September”, followed by a reminder, “Ehhh!, don’t tell your father in law ok..”.

Yesterday we saw the game, saying the football terrible is an understatement, ‘unfriendliness’ was the preferred strategy, silly keeper mistake and two red cards incident was the highlights. At the end, only 17 of the total 32 players survived. FAM under 20 won, are they? Look at the numbers of injury, is it worth it? Luckily they won, if not FAM could have kill these bunch of innocent kids motivation, after so much work done including beating the Manchester United academy.

At the end of it Prime Minister of Malaysia took his time handing out medals to the winner. Is he really into football? Was it because of his son in law? Where was he during the Malaysian Cup final? Isn’t that game is more important? How can he allow Malaysian to hate his own National Team? Land of possibilities, made possible through the ultimate connection and that is the BolehLand.
